Zachary's options for residential real estate are a combination of old and new, traditional and modern, single family and multi-family, all offering quality living. Copper Mill is a first-class golf course community, designed around the award-winning 18-hole, par-72 Copper Mill Golf Course.

Also in the mix are new and mature neighborhoods like Lake Point and Pointe South, Audubon Lakes, Live Oak Trace, Oak Grove Estates, Ravenwood, Fennwood Hills, Americana, Claremont Estates, Windsor Place and Richland. They are springing up throughout Zachary, offering a cross section of housing choices. All of them are close to schools, shopping and recreation.

An assortment of locally owned stores and boutiques and well-known national retailers makes shopping in Zachary convenient and enjoyable. Eclectic local eateries as well as popular restaurant and fast-food choices are plentiful, regularly drawing diners form the entire region.



A full array of sports and leisure activities are available in Zachary, keeping residents entertained and visitors coming back for more.

The Zachary Youth Park provides facilities for baseball, softball and football for children, and a half-mile walking track. BREC recently completed the first phase of 12 signature Community Parks on a 40-plus acre piece of land adjacent to the Youth Park. Pedestrian connections have been made between parks, greatly expand leisure opportunities in the area. A soccer complex of Flanacher Road hosts fall soccer leagues.

A variety of gyms and other fitness facilities can be found all around Zachary. Jazzercise, martial arts, dance, gymnastics, skateboarding and many other programs are popular among children and adults alike. In addition, Copper Mill, Beaver Creek and Fenwood Hills offer challenging golfing opportunities.

The East Baton Rouge Library has a popular branch on Main Street in Zachary where programs and educational activities are regularly presented. The Zachary branch is a great community resource.

Bennett's Water Ski School draws students from all over the world to its year-round facility. Bennett's also hosts regional and national water ski competitions.

The Zachary Historic Village offers a glimpse into the southern American lifestyle during the late 1800s and early 1900s. With a variety of different restored houses, including the original Zachary Depot, Zachary Town Hall and Fire House, all containing exhibits and programs with unique themes, the Historic Village offers an entertaining, educational experience for kids and adults alike.

Also popular is Port Hudson State Park on Highway 61, the site of an important Civil War siege. Each month, there are educational activities and occasional re-enactments commemorating the bloody battles.

The Baton Rouge Zoo is located minutes away in Baker and features year-round entertainment for children and adults alike.
